                   	     ORDINANCE NO. 10218
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING PART OF
                   SHALLOWFORD ROAD LOCATED NORTHWEST FROM
                   GUNBARREL ROAD, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED
                   HEREIN, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned part of Shallowford Road located northwest from
         Gunbarrel Road, more particularly described herein, and as 
shown
         on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference:
               
                The south 3 feet of the new Shallowford Road
                right-of-way beginning on the northwest line of the
                new Gunbarrel Road right-of-way, and extending
                northwest some 300 feet between parallel lines to
                the northwest corner of tract 2,Wilson-Nowell
                Subdivision, as shown by plat of record in plat
                book 52, page 160, ROHC.  Tax Map No. 149H-E-7.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure
         and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions:
                1. Approval of the City Engineer and all public
                   utilities.	 
               
                2. The areas reserved for utility easements must be
                   kept free and clear of all structures.
               
                3. All existing easements are retained.

              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
